Pakistan Connection in Sambhal Violence: Three Bullets from Pakistan Ordinance Factory Recovered
Pakistan Connection in Sambhal Violence: In a major revelation in the Sambhal violence case, the police have unearthed a shocking connection to Pakistan. After conducting a thorough search operation, authorities recovered three bullets linked to imported weapons. The bullets were found in the drains on the road in front of a mosque, where the violence had erupted nearly 10 days earlier.
The police suspected that the bullets were deliberately discarded into the drains to destroy evidence and prevent investigative agencies from tracing the culprits. However, the ploy failed, and authorities vowed swift action to identify and arrest them.
Imported Weapons and US-made Pistols
The investigation further showed that the bullets recovered are from USA-made pistols. How the rioters acquired such expensive weapons and imported the ammunition is of concern in the serious issues of the availability and supply chain of foreign firearms.
Magistrate Inquiry and Statements by Police
A magistrate-led inquiry is in progress, and statements of 10 police officials are being recorded. These reports will be presented in the court. The incidents resulted in the killing of four persons, and police have lodged seven separate FIRs against more than 2,500 unidentified persons.
Pakistan Ordnance Factory Link
It was further established that the bullets from the riot were manufactured in the Pakistan Ordinance Factory. Recovered articles included two misfires and one casing of a 9mm bullet besides casings from 12-bore and 32-bore guns.
Political Responses
Meanwhile, the issue also snowballed into the Lok Sabha, with Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav also criticizing the central government for the violence in the speech. He condemned the loss of harmony and brotherhood in the region, suggesting that the political discourse could further damage India's unity.
