New Expressway to Connect Palwal and Aligarh, ₹2,300 Crore Project Underway
The new Palwal-Aligarh Expressway project will connect Haryana to western Uttar Pradesh, benefiting cities like Gurugram, Noida, and Agra. Spanning 32 km with an investment of ₹2,300 crore, it promises faster, smoother travel and regional economic growth.

The ground-breaking of a new greenfield expressway linking Palwal in Haryana to Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh has now been initiated. The infrastructure project will greatly enhance connectivity between western Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, providing relief to commuters going to major destinations such as Gurugram, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and Meerut.
Project Details and Investment
The Palwal-Aligarh Expressway will cover a distance of around 32 kilometers, connecting Tappal with the Yamuna Expressway and Palwal with the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. The cost of this ambitious road project has been estimated at ₹2,300 crore.
The expressway, once developed, will provide quicker connectivity from Aligarh to Agra, Mathura, Delhi NCR, Noida, Greater Noida, and Gurugram, cutting travel time significantly.
For example, traveling from Sarsol to the Yamuna Expressway will take approximately one hour, thus making Mathura, Agra, and nearby areas more accessible faster.
Land Acquisition Plan
Land will be purchased from approximately 43 villages from Aligarh district in order to build this new expressway. Some of the most prominent villages are:
Andla, Arrana, Jarara, Choudhana, Taroura, Nayawas, Rasoolpur, Ainchna, Udaygarhi, Bamoti, Laxmangarhi, Mau, Bankner
The other land purchases will be made in villages such as Dharmapur, Nagla Assu, Damuwaka, Khair, Userhpur Rasoolpur, and Nagal Kalan.
