Patna: Rapid-Fire Shooting Outside Government Hospital as Criminals Strike After Release from Jail
The law and order situation in Bihar does not seem to be improving any time soon as criminals start pulling off robberies with immunity. In the latest crime reported, there was a spate of open-fire shooting reported outside PMCH (Patna Medical College and Hospital) in Pirbahore, Patna, on Thursday morning.
At about 5 a.m., miscreants riding a motorcycle launched a volley of shots at Bhojpur Pharma, a drug store opposite the government hospital. The attackers were said to have targeted the shop owner in an attempt to cow him into acceding to their demand for extortion money that the criminals had been making four days prior. The attackers were reportedly out of jail just recently.
The police are investigating the incident.
After receiving the news, police arrived at the spot and started investigating. From the CCTV footage, attackers are being identified. In the investigation, two empty cartridges were recovered from the spot. Authorities claim that they have identified the suspects and assured the people that the arrests will be made soon. However, the incident has put the local residents in a state of fear.
