Patna’s Khan Sir Hospitalized Amid Arrest Rumors; Police Deny Detention Claims

Eminent Patna-based educator Khan Sir has been hospitalized due to complaints of dehydration and fever, nullifying the rumors of his arrest. A video of his hospital visit has surfaced clarifying his condition. Arrest rumors began to spread after protests by students over the BPSC exam normalization system led police to take action including a lathi charge. Khan Sir and other teachers had joined the protesting students, further spreading the news that Khan Sir was arrested and taken to the Gardanibagh police station.

The police spoke about the rumors

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Anu Kumari said that Khan Sir had himself come to the Gardanibagh police station and had assured the magistrate that he would counsel the agitated students. Contrary to social media posts claiming his arrest, the police clarified that he was not detained. Instead, Khan Sir requested police assistance to reach his vehicle safely, which they provided.

Misleading Social Media Posts Under Investigation

DSP Kumari also mentioned that a provocative and misleading post demanding Khan Sir's release was shared from a handle named "Global Studies" on Saturday morning. The police have termed this as baseless and are now investigating the account for spreading misinformation and inciting unrest. Patna police are focusing on taking action against such social media handles to prevent further escalation of tensions among students.
