A screengrab from a video shows Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar and his friends beating another wrestler. The video has surfaced recently.
The wrestler is seen lying on the ground in the screengrab. Later he succumbed to injuries he suffered due to the severe beating.
Sushil Kumar has also been arrested in the murder case. Kumar made his friend record the video to terrorise the wrestling circuit in the city.
Sagar Dhankar was 23, he was beaten to death by Sushil Kumar and three others. The wrestler champion and his friends had beaten Mr Dhankar and his two friends black and blue on May 4 at Delhi’s Chhatrasal Stadium. All three were hospitalised later.
However, Sushil Kumar on May 18 approached a court in Delhi’s Rohini seeking protection from arrest. He claimed that the probe against him was biased and that no injuries caused to the victim were attributable to him.
Sushil Kumar won a bronze medal in 2008 Beijing Olympics and a silver medal in the 2012 London Olympics.
