PM Modi Receives 20th International Honor, Awarded ‘Order of Mubarak Al-Abir’ by Kuwait
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred Kuwait's highest civilian award, The Order of Mubarak Al-Abir, by the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. This is the most significant award for friendship and it is bestowed upon foreign heads of state and dignitaries. PM Modi received his 20th international honor as he continues to add to the long list of global accolades.
A Symbol of Friendship and Recognition
The Order of Mubarak Al-Abir is Kuwait's knighthood order previously awarded to global leaders such as Bill Clinton, Prince Charles, and George Bush. It reflects the growing bilateral ties between India and Kuwait, now focusing on trade, energy, and investment collaborations.
A warm welcome and bilateral talks
PM Modi arrived in Kuwait on a two-day visit, the first by an Indian Prime Minister in 43 years. He was formally received at the Bayan Palace with a Guard of Honor by Kuwait's Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. During his visit, PM Modi held extensive discussions with the Emir, aiming to strengthen India-Kuwait relations across various sectors, including business and energy.
Indian Community Engagement
On Saturday, PM Modi spoke to the Indian community in Kuwait and visited a workers' camp, admitting that expatriates from the country had played a critical role in the Gulf state.
