PM Modi Receives Death Threat on Mumbai Police Helpline; Probe Underway

PM Modi Death Threat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received a death threat through a message sent to the Mumbai Traffic Police helpline. The threatening text said to have been sent from Ajmer, Rajasthan included two ISI agents and claimed that there was a plan of a bomb attack on him. The police are currently on high alert and launching an investigation into the matter.

The message was received on Saturday morning on the WhatsApp number of the traffic police. It had explicit references to ISI agents and a detailed bomb plot against PM Modi. After this, an FIR was filed under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, and a detailed probe was initiated.

Possible Hoax Under Investigation

The investigators feel that the sender is mentally deranged or addicted to alcohol. Still, they are studying the validity of the threat thoroughly. The Mumbai Police Traffic helpline has previously received many hoax threats in the past. Hence, a tinge of caution comes attached to this investigation process as well.
