Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the Gandhinagar-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express train on Friday. The semi-high speed train was flagged off from Gandhinagar Capital railway station this morning.
Vande Bharat Express train connects the capital cities of Maharashtra and Gujarat. It is the third Vande Bharat train in India.
The first train started on the New Delhi-Varanasi route. The second one runs on the New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra route.
It will provide passengers aircraft-like travelling experience. The advanced safety features like Kavach technology make it equally safe and smart.
Vande Bharat Express Train in Gujarat
The Gandhinagar-Mumbai Vande Bharat Superfast train will begin its commercial run on October 1. Also, PM Modi can be seen travelling in the semi-high speed train.
The semi-high speed train will operate six days a week except for Sundays. It will halt at Surat, Vadodara and Ahmedabad stations in both directions.
The fare for the journey by executive chair car will be ₹ 2,505. While for the chair car, it will be ₹ 1,385.
It is to be noted here that Vande Bharat Express is an indigenously designed, self-propelled train set of 16 coaches.
The train can reach 160 kmph speed in just 140 seconds. Moreover, this is the first train with aeroplane-like bio-vacuum toilets with touch-free amenities.
