PM Modi to Address Mega Rally in Kanpur on April 24 in German-Style Saffron Pandal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing a huge public rally on April 24, 2025, at the grounds of the Chandrashekhar Azad University in Kanpur. This will be his very first-ever rally at this venue. As a special provision for the massive crowd, a modern pandal (canopy) is being built, and it is inspired by the highest German engineering standards.

Pandal Constructed According to German Design Principles

The pandal is being built to endure harsh weather conditions, such as heavy winds, rain, and direct sunlight. The pandal will be 155 meters long and 130 meters wide, with a total area of approximately 200,000 square feet. It will be sectioned into five to six independent blocks, each having seating and several large coolers to maintain the environment cool for visitors.

Seating Capacity of 50,000 People

The auditorium will seat between 40,000 to 50,000 individuals. The audience will be seated within allocated blocks by district of origin to facilitate organized arrangement and management of the crowds. Each will stay within the allocated block during the event.

Several LCD Screens for Uninterrupted Viewing

To provide all with an unobstructed view of the stage, about 8 to 10 huge LCD screens are being placed throughout the venue. Every block will have a screen to show the event, so no one will miss any segment of the speech and activities.

200 Workers on Site, Construction in Full Swing

Around 200 workers are toiling day and night to ready the pandal within the deadline. The German-style pandal, the contractor Indradev said, takes 70% less time to erect and is simpler to demolish than traditional arrangements.

Venue to be Adorned in Saffron

The entire pandal will be decorated in saffron — a color symbolizing enthusiasm and energy — adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the rally. Special attention is being given to safety and crowd management, with a layout that limits movement during the Prime Minister’s address.
