PM Modi: At the Balyogi Auditorium, Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be watching 'The Sabarmati Report' today at 4 PM. The film shows actor Vikrant Massey featuring in the tragic events about Godhra train coach-burning incident of 2002. The film has witnessed much attention, especially in the political circle, where it has been talking and discussed.

Plot and Lead Cast of 'The Sabarmati Report'

The Sabarmati Report is an attempt to expose all the facts about the burning of the S-6 coach of the Sabarmati Express at Godhra, an incident that plays a crucial role in changing the course of Indian history. Vikrant Massey plays the lead character, and the movie will be featuring Ridhi Dogra and Raashii Khanna in pivotal roles. It is Dheeraj Saran's film, released on November 15. Now, the film is set to bring a wider and much-needed discussion about Godhra.

Political Leaders Hail the Film

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi had come out in support of the film, praising its role in shedding light on the 2002 incident. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he said, "It is good that this truth is coming out, and that too in a way common people can see it. A fake narrative can persist only for a limited period. Eventually, the facts will always come out!
The movie is reportedly an emotional favorite among some of the leaders of BJP-governed states. Recently, for example, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath came and watched it with all its stars, hailing Vikrant Massey for his acting here and declaring the film tax free in the state. "The people of this country deserve to know the truth behind actions that have fueled societal divisions," Adityanath quipped.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini also praised the film, saying it is a sensitive depiction of the Godhra incident. He described the film as a tribute to the 59 lives lost in the 2002 tragedy. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who recently saw the film, announced that it would be exempt from entertainment tax in the state. This makes Uttarakhand the seventh BJP-ruled state to grant this status to the film.

A Call for Truth and Justice

The film has managed to incite political interest and public sensitivity due to the honest portrayal of the train-burning incident at Godhra in 2002. Leaders from all BJP-ruled states have been quoted discussing in support of "Lateef's truth".
