Prime Minister Modi Saturday held a meeting with all the secretaries to the government of India.

In the 3-hour long meet, PM Modi urged them to work together and implement policy decisions, as per sources.

After the meeting, the PM informed the top IAS officers present that he was used to long meetings.

PM Modi also spoke for half an hour before opening the meeting for senior officials to speak their minds.

Before Covid-19 hit India in January 2019, PM Modi held meetings with all secretaries to have the necessary feedback from policy implementers.

Basically, the brainstorming session aims to find solutions for the problems.

The main purpose behind these exercises remains to energise the bureaucracy so that it becomes result driven and not process-driven.

Just two days ago on his birthday, prime minister Narendra Modi acknowledged the hard work of doctors, innovators, administrators, nurses, healthcare and all front-line workers who made the vaccination drive a success.
