Central Minister Prahlad Joshi Accuses State Government of Mishandling Darshan Case Photos

Hubballi, Sept. 6 — Central Minister Prahlad Joshi has accused the Karnataka state government of serious misconduct in the handling of the gruesome murder case of Renukasaami. Joshi alleged that the release of sensitive photos related to the case from the Parappana Agrahara jail was a grave crime and a deliberate attempt by the state government to divert attention from other issues.

The case, involving the brutal murder of Renukasaami by Darshan and his gang, has reached its final stages, with police submitting a charge sheet detailing the horrific nature of the crime across 3,991 pages. Recently, disturbing photos of Renukasaami pleading for his life, retrieved from the accused's mobile phones, went viral on social media.

Joshi criticized the state government for allowing these photos to be leaked, calling it an "unforgivable crime" and accusing the government of using the case to distract from scandals such as the MUDA (Mysuru Urban Development Authority) and Valmiki Corporation controversies. He stated that the government’s actions were part of a "narrow conspiracy" and urged that severe punishment be meted out to the perpetrators.

In his remarks, Joshi also addressed issues related to the COVID-19 scandal, questioning why the government had not released records and why there was a delay in addressing corruption allegations. He criticized the state government for not taking timely action on the Mahadayi river dispute and other pending proposals.

Joshi concluded by stating that the Supreme Court’s intervention in the matter would be welcomed, emphasizing the importance of accountability and transparency in handling such high-profile cases.
