Prashant Kishor Calls Out Modi's Popularity Dip: NDA's Fate Hinges on 9 State Elections, Nitish Kumar in a Political Bind!

Poll strategist and founder of Jan Suraj, Prashant Kishor, made a significant statement, asserting that there is no doubt Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA government have seen a decline in popularity. Kishor believes the future of the NDA government will heavily depend on the upcoming elections in nine key states over the next two to two-and-a-half years.

Kishor highlighted that the political landscape is set to shift with elections in states like Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Jharkhand. He indicated that these elections could be crucial in determining the stability of the NDA government.

Kishor’s Remarks on Modi and NDA Popularity

“There is no doubt that the popularity of PM Modi and the NDA government has diminished,” said Kishor. He emphasized that the future of the government will depend largely on the results of elections in these nine states. Kishor added that if the results go against the BJP, it could raise questions about the government's stability. However, if the BJP performs well, it will likely secure its hold on power.

Comments on Nitish Kumar

Kishor also addressed the political dynamics surrounding Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister of Bihar. He pointed out that the BJP cannot afford to remove Nitish Kumar from his position despite their internal challenges. “The BJP knows that they cannot win elections in Bihar with Nitish as CM, but they also cannot do anything in Bihar without him because they need his support to run the government in Delhi,” Kishor explained.

Jan Suraj Party’s Launch and Bihar Elections

Prashant Kishor is preparing to formally launch his political party, Jan Suraj, on October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The party has already announced its plans to contest the Bihar Assembly elections, and Kishor has been on a padayatra (foot march) for the past two years.

In a recent announcement, Kishor vowed to end the prohibition on alcohol in Bihar within an hour of his party coming to power. He criticized the current prohibition policy under Nitish Kumar, calling it a “sham” and arguing that it has led to an increase in illegal liquor distribution while depriving the state of potential excise revenue worth ₹20,000 crore.

Kishor also made a notable declaration that Jan Suraj will field at least 40 Muslim candidates in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, showcasing his intention to bring diversity into the political arena of the state.
