A shocking scandal has rocked the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) with revelations of a trainee officer, Puja Khedkar, allegedly misusing the reserved quota system to secure her position.

Khedkar, who secured an All India Rank of 821 in the 2021 UPSC exams, claimed to be from the OBC non-creamy layer quota, declaring herself to be poor. However, investigations have uncovered assets worth a staggering Rs 17 crore and an annual income of Rs 42 lakh. Her father, Dilip Khedkar, has also been found to possess assets worth Rs 40 crore, as disclosed in their election affidavit.

DISABILITY CLAIMS RAISE EYEBROWS

Reports suggest that Khedkar also claimed to be disabled, stating in her UPSC affidavit that she was visually impaired and mentally ill. Despite her low scores, Khedkar allegedly benefited from concessions given to disadvantaged candidates, landing her the coveted IAS post.

MBBS Admission Under Scrutiny 

According to a report by the Times of India, college director Arvind Bhore stated that Puja Khedkar got admission to the MBBS program by presenting a non-creamy layer OBC certificate under the Reserved Nomadic Tribe-3 category. Bhore mentioned that Khedkar secured admission by scoring 146 out of 200 marks.

LUXURY LIFESTYLE UNDER SCRUTINY

Khedkar has been criticised for using a private Audi car with government red-blue beacons and the Maharashtra government emblem. The questions are being raised that how can an IAS officer, who claimed to be poor and visually impaired, afford such an expensive vehicle?

CAR SEIZED BY TRAFFIC POLICE

In the latest development, the Pune traffic police have seized Khedkar's Audi car under the Motor Vehicle Act, as the investigation into her alleged misuse of the reserved quota system continues.
