In a first of its kind protest over the Adani issue, Congress MPs, including Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi, wore black half jackets emblazoned with the slogan "Modi-Adani Are One" for a symbolic protest in Parliament on Thursday. This is amid corruption allegations by the U.S. prosecutors against the Adani Group.

Rahul Gandhi said, speaking to the media, "Modi ji cannot investigate Adani because if he does, he would be investigating himself. Modi and Adani are one. They are not two, they are one."

The opposition also demanded a joint parliamentary investigation into the allegations against Adani. On Wednesday, leaders from different Indian bloc parties, including Congress, AAP, RJD, Shiv Sena (UBT), DMK, and Left parties, protested in Parliament demanding an inquiry into the matter. Opposition MPs also carried banners reading "Modi-Adani Are One" at the Makar Gate of Parliament, though TMC distanced itself from the protest.

The protest is a reaction to the ongoing allegations against the Adani Group, which has denied all charges, calling them "baseless." The move also aligns with Rahul Gandhi's earlier statement calling for the arrest of Adani.
