Railways Introduces New Medical ID Card for Employees and Pensioners

Indian Railways has announced a significant upgrade to its health care policy for employees, pensioners, and their dependents. The railway organization will now issue a unique Medical Identification Card, which will allow holders to receive treatment at hospitals on the railway panel and all All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) facilities across the country for a nominal fee of just ₹100.

This initiative is expected to benefit approximately 1.25 million employees, over 1.5 million pensioners, and around 1 million dependents. The new card simplifies access to medical services and aims to enhance health care provisions for those associated with Indian Railways.

Under this new system, cardholders will enjoy free medical treatment at designated hospitals and AIIMS facilities, making quality health care more accessible and affordable.
