RBI Lists Key Security Features to Identify Genuine and Fake Notes

RBI: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has incorporated several important security features to distinguish between genuine and counterfeit currency notes. This feature will enable people to avoid counterfeit notes and recognize the authenticity of currency notes.

1. Mahatma Gandhi Watermark

Real currency notes have a watermark of Mahatma Gandhi clearly visible when held against light. Counterfeit notes do not have this feature.

2. Security Thread

A security thread is also incorporated in the real currency notes, which glows under light. This type of thread is not visible in the fake notes; hence it is hard to find.

3. Changing Ink

Color-changing ink is used in the actual notes, which changes color when the note is tilted. This feature is absent in the fake notes.

4. Microlettering

Real notes have microlettering, which is small text that is hard to see without a microscope. The fake notes do not contain this technology.

How to Avoid Fake Notes

Now that you know these security features, you can differentiate between genuine and counterfeit currency easily. Always check on these features to avoid taking fake notes.
