The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Monday forecasted heavy to very heavy rains in parts of north India. This comes as the entire north India continues to suffer from the unforgiving heatwave.
The IMD prediction is for Uttarakhand, Punjab, Chadigarh, Haryana and national capital Delhi. MeT Department has also issued alerts for several states in north India. There is a red warning too for parts of Maharashtra.
Heavy rainfall is also likely in isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, west UP, east Rajasthan, Sikkim, Odisha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, West Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Lakshadweep, north interior Karnataka, the IMD bulletin shows.
It seems after an intense heatwave, there will be some respite for the entire north India.
Lighting at isolated places is also likely on Monday morning over J&K, Ladakh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Sikkim, Assam, Puducherry, Nagaland, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Tripura, coastal Andhra Pradesh, central Maharashtra, Rajasthan etc.
