In a major breakthrough, the Meerut Police have arrested two women and five of their accomplices involved in a honey trap extortion racket. The gang, which operated across Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut, lured men into intimate encounters and later blackmailed them by threatening to file false rape charges. The group had been targeting unsuspecting men, extorting large sums of money from them.

The accused women, identified as Ruheena Khan and her niece Sumaiya, both residents of Delhi, posed as different individuals to lure their victims. They befriended men over the phone, trapped them in fake romantic relationships, and then took them to hotels, where they engaged in physical relations. Following this, their accomplices would arrive and accuse the men of sexual assault, demanding hefty sums to settle the matter.

Modus Operandi of the Honey Trap Gang

According to Ayush Vikram Singh, SP City, the honey trap gang involved several people, including Ruheena Khan, Sumaiya, and their five male associates. The gang operated by using fake names to approach men. In one case, Sumaiya, posing as "Shalu Sharma," befriended a man from Kashipur, Meerut. She lured him to a hotel in Rithani, where they established a physical relationship. At this point, Ruheena and her associates, including Feroz, Asif, Aniket, Deepak, and Faheem, stormed the hotel, accused the man of raping Ruheena, and began beating him.

The gang demanded Rs. 50 lakh from the man to "settle" the case. Eventually, they agreed on a sum of Rs. 10 lakh. The victim called his family, who informed the police.

The Arrests

As the gang and the victim arrived at the Paratapur police station, Sumaiya and her associates lodged a false complaint of rape. However, the police sensed something was amiss during the interrogation. Most of the gang members fled the scene, but the police managed to arrest them on Kashipur Road after a chase.

The arrested individuals included Feroz, who is considered the mastermind of the gang, along with Asif, Aniket, Deepak, and Faheem. The police also recovered several items, including cars, motorcycles, forged Aadhar cards, and seven mobile phones.

Evidence and Further Investigations

Sumaiya had been sending regular updates to her accomplices via text messages during her time with the victim at the hotel. The police retrieved these messages from her phone, which provided crucial evidence of the gang's coordinated activities. Further investigations are underway, with the police trying to identify other victims who may have fallen prey to this elaborate extortion scheme.

The busting of this honey trap gang has revealed how organized criminal groups are exploiting unsuspecting individuals through fake romantic relationships and extortion. The police are continuing their investigation to track down any other associates and potential victims.
