In the wake of ongoing protests against Railway Recruitment Board’s Non Technical Popular Categories Exam (RRB NTPC), the Prime Minister’s Office has called a meeting.
Officials from the Railways will meet and review the process of the examination on Friday.
The meeting will be convened in the evening. The PMO officials are likely to discuss the hiring process followed by Railways to fill the positions. How much focus is given to the recruitment process followed in 2004 will also be discussed.
Thousands of students across UP and Bihar have been protesting against the RRB NTPC exam. The agitators claim that the selection method is biased against aspirants with lower qualifications.
Although, the students had long been objecting to the method but it soon flared up in violent protests on Monday; when a large number of youth blocked tracks at the Rajendra Nagar Terminal in Patna. The same week, some of miscreants also set a train on fire in Gaya and vandalised the station.
Students bodies have now called for Bihar Bandh to protest against the exam on Friday.
