Dattatreya Hosabale, Sarkaryawah (General Secretary) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), visited the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj on a two-day trip. He emphasized that the event is more than a gathering of people—it's a divine confluence of faith, culture, and self-reflection.

Maha Kumbh: A Festival of Commitment

Speaking at the event, Hosabale highlighted the spiritual, cultural, and social significance of the Maha Kumbh. He described it as a “Mahaparv of Sankalp” (a festival of commitment) rather than just a fair. According to him, the event allows millions of devotees to channel their lives towards dharma, meditation, and self-purification.

Calling for the Protection of Faith and Culture

Hosabale stressed the need to reconnect the younger generation with the essence of Sanatan Dharma and its values. He urged families, religious organizations, and society at large to take active steps to promote and preserve these traditions. He also made it clear that safeguarding faith and culture is not just the responsibility of saints or governments; it requires a coordinated effort from all sections of society, including spiritual leaders, community members, and policymakers.

Acknowledging the Role of Sanitation Workers

During his second day at the Kumbh, Hosabale met with sanitation workers responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the massive event. He expressed gratitude and admiration for their invaluable contributions, acknowledging the key role they play in preserving the sanctity of the Maha Kumbh.

Connecting Youth with Sanatan Dharma

Hosabale reiterated the importance of educating the younger generation about Sanatan Dharma and its cultural heritage. By doing so, he believes they will understand and follow these values, ensuring the continuity of India’s ancient traditions.

Devotees’ Enthusiasm Remains High

Although the major sacred bathing festivals—Makar Sankranti, Mauni Amavasya, and Vasant Panchami—have concluded, the devotion of the pilgrims shows no signs of diminishing. Every day, hundreds of thousands of people from India and abroad continue to visit the Sangam, immersing themselves in the spiritual atmosphere. Authorities have increased transportation options to accommodate the growing crowds, ensuring a smooth experience for all.

Dattatreya Hosabale’s visit to the Maha Kumbh underscored the event’s profound cultural and spiritual significance. His call for collective efforts to protect India’s faith and traditions serves as a reminder that the Maha Kumbh is not just a festival but a reflection of the enduring strength of Sanatan Dharma.
