NCB officer Sameer Wankhede has been removed from the Aryan Khan Mumbai drugs case.
Five other cases were also transferred from Mumbai to the Delhi operations unit of the NCB. One of them involves NCP leader Nawab Malik’s son-in-law Sameer Khan and actor Armaan Kohli.
Although, Sameer Wankhede says that he had earlier sought for the cases to be transferred.
As he is facing an NCB vigilance probe into several allegations of personal impropriety against him by a witness in the Mumbai cruise ship case.
The NCB official has been consistently denying any such claims of wrong-doing.
Also, late last month, the Maharashtra government had informed the Bombay High Court that it will not arrest NCB Mumbai Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede without giving him three days prior notice.
The NCB official had also approached the High Court seeking transfer of the Mumbai Police’s probe into these complaints of alleged extortion to the CBI.
Moreover, Aryan Khan, today reached the NCB office to mark his presence, as required by his bail conditions. The 23-year-old was released on bail just a week ago after spending more than 20 days in jail.
Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was detained by the NCB during a cruise ship drug raid in Mumbai. He was later arrested and sent to judicial custody.
The Bombay High Court had granted him bail on some conditions including marking his presence every Friday to the NCB office among others.
