Politics in Maharashtra have once again heated up, with MLA from Vikhroli and brother of the Uddhav Thackeray faction leader, Sunil Raut, saying that he is willing to resign. The MLA, Sunil Raut, questioned the legitimacy of the election results and demanded fresh elections through ballot papers instead of EVMs, while stating that he is willing to resign if fresh elections were conducted through ballot papers.

In a social media post, Sunil Raut expressed shock over the election results, saying he had expected to win by a margin of 40,000 to 50,000 votes but secured victory with just 16,000 votes. He further alleged that thousands of voters from his constituency, Vikhroli, also find the results unacceptable.

Raut reiterated his demand for a ballot paper election, saying that such a move would "bring clarity" to the situation. "Let the truth prevail," he wrote, fueling discussions about the credibility of EVM-based elections in Maharashtra.
