October 31, is his birth anniversary, it is remembered as National Unity Day. Today is Vallabhbhai Patel’s 146th birth anniversary.
Congress’ Priyanka Gandhi Vadra remembered Patel for his fight for the farmers in 1928 Bardoli Satyagraha.
National Unity Day is celebrated in India on October 31 every year. It was introduced by the Central government in 2014 to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel.
He is known to play a major role in the political integration of India. President Ram Nath Kovind paid floral tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Rashtrapati Bhavan today.
On National Unity Day, First Lady Savita Kovind flagged off the Mission Olympics Run for Unity today. It was organised by the Police Families Welfare Society, Delhi Police.
