SDM's Car Parked in No-Parking Zone, Company Locks It; 6 Employees Detained
In Guna, Madhya Pradesh, a private company that had the responsibility of towing away vehicles parked in no-parking zones ran into trouble when its workers locked the wheel of a government vehicle belonging to SDM Shivani Pandey. The incident occurred on Tuesday near the Pashupatinath Temple, where the SDM's car was parked in a no-parking area. The workers were not aware of the vehicle's official status and placed a wheel lock on it. The SDM had left at the time, and the vehicle was unlocked without a fine.
Things, however, became worse with a photo of the jammed car spreading like wildfire on the social media and prompting action from the SDM. Six employees from the company were detained at the police station under charges of creating disturbances to public peace. They appeared in court in the evening with bail allowed by the SDM who provided advice after detention. The staff involved were Ankesh Yadav, Raju Lodha, Ajay Singh Dhakad, Chandan Singh Rajak, Bhupendra Dhakad, and Arun Lodha.
Miscommunication and Aftermath
The employees reportedly failed to recognize the SDM's nameplate on the vehicle, as they were not well-educated. After the incident, a traffic police constable on duty, Rais Khan, was sent to the police lines. SDM Shivani Pandey is known for her clean image and dedication. She had previously worked as a Tehsildar in Gwalior before this role in Guna.
