Second Day of Tragedy in J&K: Road Accident in Kishtwar Claims 4 Lives, Search for Driver Continues

Jammu and Kashmir witnessed another tragic road accident on Sunday, as a car carrying six people plunged into a gorge in Kishtwar's Massu Paddar area. Four occupants lost their lives, one is injured, and the driver remains missing. Police and locals collaborated to recover the bodies and transport them for postmortem.

Information regarding the Accident

The incident took place when the driver lost control of his vehicle on a sharp turn while journeying from Paddar to Massu village. Eyewitnesses report that the car came crashing down into the gorge, leaving the vehicle completely mangled. The deceased have been identified as Raj Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, Hakikat Singh, and Satish Kumar, all residents of Kishtwar.


Central Minister Confirms Incident

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh confirmed the incident through his social media post, offering condolences to the bereaved families. Divers have been deployed in the nearby river to locate the missing driver, who is suspected to have been washed away.

Back-to-Back Tragedies in J&K

This is the second major accident in J&K within two days. On Saturday, an Army truck fell into a gorge at Bandipora, killing four soldiers and injuring three. The accident is supposed to have been caused by bad weather and poor visibility.
