Singapore slams Arvind Kejriwal over his variant tweet

Conveying strong objections over Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s tweet on a ‘Singapore variant’, the country had summoned the Indian envoy.

Singapore says that the envoy had told them Mr Kejriwal had no competence on Covid variants.

Just a day ago, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had urged the government to cancel air services with Singapore on account of what he called a new form of corona that came to Singapore.

Moreover, this new form of Corona variant that came to Singapore is extremely dangerous for children. Expressing strong objections over the tweets, Singapore was quick to clear the air on the same.

It noted that the Phylogenetic testing shows that the B.1.617.2 variant is the prevalent strain in many of the COVID cases.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also held a virtual interaction with field officials from different states and districts on Tuesday.

Furthermore, the session focused on discussing the Covid-19 situation in India. PM Modi also told the attendees that the Union health ministry is undertaking continuous efforts to bolster supply of Covid-19 vaccines.

As the second wave of Covid-19 sweeps through these areas. He pushed them to undertake rigorous efforts to test, isolate, and treat those affected.
