SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav Says All Bulldozers Will Be Sent to Gorakhpur After Forming Government; CM Yogi Immediately Responds...
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has responded sharply to Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav's recent remarks about bulldozers, asserting that not everyone is capable of handling the bulldozer approach to governance. CM Yogi stated that those who have previously bowed down to rioters cannot take such decisive action, hinting that Yadav’s comments reflect his inability to deal with such situations effectively.
Akhilesh Yadav had recently commented that if the Samajwadi Party comes to power in 2027, all bulldozers in the state would be directed towards Gorakhpur, Yogi Adityanath's hometown. Yadav’s statement came after the Supreme Court raised concerns about the use of bulldozers for demolishing properties, particularly in cases involving alleged rioters.
Yogi Adityanath’s Retort
In his retort, CM Yogi remarked that those who were involved in looting and corruption before 2017 are now trying to portray themselves as leaders like Tipu Sultan. He compared them to the character from the TV serial "Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne," implying that they are living in a fantasy world. He further accused the previous regime of playing with the future of the youth, emphasizing that under his government, every youth in the state is getting equal opportunities.
He also warned that the properties of those who engage in dishonest practices will be confiscated. Yogi Adityanath accused the previous administration of instigating riots and dividing people along caste lines. He praised his government for the transparent selection process in 13 departments, ensuring that no bias based on caste or district was involved in the recruitment process. He asserted that transparency in appointments has been achieved over the last seven and a half years, which was previously unheard of.
Akhilesh Yadav’s Remarks on Bulldozer Action
Akhilesh Yadav made his comments during a review meeting of the Gorakhpur unit of the Samajwadi Party. His statement about redirecting bulldozers to Gorakhpur after 2027 came in reaction to the Supreme Court's critical remarks on the state’s bulldozer actions. Yadav also accused the current government of wrongfully targeting innocent people.
Supreme Court’s Concerns
The Supreme Court recently raised serious concerns over the use of bulldozers for demolishing properties, especially based solely on accusations. The court questioned the legality of such actions, stating that even if a person is guilty, their home should not be demolished as a form of punishment. The court’s comments have sparked a debate about the use of bulldozers in law enforcement actions across the state.
The ongoing exchange between CM Yogi Adityanath and Akhilesh Yadav reflects the deepening political tensions in Uttar Pradesh as both leaders gear up for future electoral battles. The debate over the use of bulldozers has become a symbol of the contrasting approaches of the two parties, with each side using the issue to criticize the other’s governance style.
