In a significant crackdown, the Kutubsher Police have busted a fake currency racket and arrested two individuals in possession of counterfeit notes valued between Rs 50,000 to 60,000. The arrests were made during a routine checking operation aimed at curbing crime in the area.

On Monday evening, the police were conducting their regular checks in the Kutubsher area when they received a tip-off about fake currency being circulated. Acting swiftly on the information, the police intensified their search operations. The breakthrough came when the police from the Labor Colony outpost apprehended two young men. Upon searching them, the police discovered the counterfeit notes.

It is believed that the suspects were in the area with the intention of circulating the fake currency. SP City Abhimanyu Manglik confirmed the arrests, stating that one of the suspects is a local resident, while the other hails from a different district. The police are currently interrogating the duo to determine the source of the counterfeit notes and their broader network.

This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of the Kutubsher Police to crack down on criminal activities and maintain law and order in the region.
