Delhi Police Sunday arrested a man from Madhya Pradesh, the alleged creator of Sulli Deals App.
The app was launched last year, it listed Muslim women for auction with their photographs sourced without permission and edited.
Sulli Deals and the latest Bulli Bai Apps were used to upload photos of Muslim women without their consent.
Both of these Apps used GitHub to auction the stolen photos.
Aumkareshwar Thakur, the accused was apprehended by the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) of Delhi Police in Indore of MP.
He is told to be the main mastermind behind the Sulli deal app case, as per Delhi Police Special Cell.
He has a BCA degree from IPS Academy in Indore and is a resident of Newyork City Township. Last year in January, Thakur had joined a group ‘Trade Mahasabha’ using the Twitter handle ‘gangescion’. They would often discuss how to troll Muslim women, said police.
After the Sulli Deals App was created, the Twitter group members allegedly uploaded doctored photos of several Muslim women.
As per the police, the accused had deleted all his social media accounts after the App made the fresh headlines of the day lately.
Now, the police are questioning him and checking all of his gadgets for further inputs.
It is worth noting that Police got hold of Thakur on the basis of inputs they got while interrogating the Bulli Bai app creator Niraj Bishnoi.
Other than him (Bishnoi), three other accused have also been arrested in the Bulli Bai App case so far.
