Terrifying Jaipur Accident: 16 Dead, 40 Vehicles Burnt; Witness the Horrific Scene

A devastating accident and fire on Friday morning in Jaipur claimed 16 lives and left 35 others severely injured. The horrifying incident occurred on Ajmer Highway near Delhi Public School, where a collision between a gas tanker and a truck caused a massive fire, engulfing around 40 vehicles. Videos of the tragic event, showing the intensity of the blaze and people crying for help, have gone viral, leaving viewers shaken.
The Cause of the Disaster
The accident happened at around 5:45 am when a Bharat Petroleum gas tanker, carrying 18 tons of LPG, collided with a truck while taking a U-turn. According to GAIL India Limited’s DGM (Fire & Safety), Sushant Kumar Singh, the tanker’s five nozzles broke, resulting in a gas leak that ignited the fire. The explosions were so loud they could be heard 20 kilometers away.

Initial reports indicate that more than 100 people are in critical condition due to the flames in this fire accident, and 5 have died.

The Aftermath
The fire turned a 200-meter stretch of the highway into a blazing inferno, with thick black smoke billowing into the sky. Rescue operations were launched after hours of firefighting, and the injured were rushed to Sawai Man Singh Hospital. Most victims suffered 80–90% burns, with 13 succumbing to injuries during treatment.
Had another LPG tanker and a matchbox-laden truck, following close behind, not stopped in time, the tragedy could have been far worse. The fire raged for over eight hours before being controlled. Authorities have confirmed the identification of 9 victims, with efforts ongoing to identify others.
