An encounter between the police and three Khalistani terrorists occurred near the Hardoi branch canal in Puranpur, Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh. The terrorists were injured during the crossfire and were pronounced dead upon arrival at the CHC Puranpur hospital. The joint operation was confirmed to be conducted by Uttar Pradesh and Punjab Police by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav.

Key Details of the Operation

Three terrorists who had carried out grenade attacks on two police stations in the Gurdaspur district of Punjab in December had been arrested. Weapons were recovered from the arrested men, including two AK rifles, two Glock pistols, and live cartridges.

Who Were the Terrorists?

Gurvinder Singh (25 years): A resident of Mohalla Kalanaur in the Gurdaspur district and an active member of the Khalistani Commando Force.
Virendra Singh alias Ravi (23): This person was a resident of Agwan village, Kalanaur. He was another Khalistani Commando Force member and involved in conspiracy of attacks against Punjab Police.

Jasan Preet Singh alias Pratap Singh (18): This was the youngest of all three. He was resident of Nikka Sur village, Kalanaur and also an active member of the Khalistani Commando Force.

Notorious Acts

The three had launched grenade attacks on December 19 and 21 against Bakshiwal Chowki and Banga Wadala village police stations situated in Gurdaspur district. Their operations aimed to help Khalistani terror in Punjab.
