Top TV Journalist Pradeep Bhandari Appointed as BJP National Spokesperson

New Delhi: The dynamic TV journalist Pradeep Bhandari has been appointed as the national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). His appointment was approved by Party President JP Nadda, and the public communique was issued by General Secretary Arun Singh. Bhandari's last major assignment was with Zee News, but he had to leave Zee News abruptly. His close ties with the BJP were also cited as a reason for this departure. Bhandari is known to be a sharp orator with a wealth of content and logic at his disposal.
People say that Bhandari has been influenced by the BJP from the beginning, and this influence was evident in his journalism. Bhandari has also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and commended his leadership.
In September 2020, while Bhandari was working as a consulting editor at Republic TV, he was allegedly attacked by journalists associated with NDTV and ABP News outside the Narcotics Control Bureau office in Mumbai during the coverage of the drug probe involving Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, and Rakul Preet Singh. A video of the attack went viral on social media, showing a man pushing Bhandari and attempting to slap him. The incident took place in front of a Mumbai Police team trying to intervene.
The cause of the confrontation remains unclear, but according to a report by the Indian Express, Newslaundry stated that the altercation was allegedly triggered by Bhandari's provocative comments towards other journalists and his intrusion into another journalist's camera frame. Later, in a tweet, Bhandari called the journalists who attacked him "goons" and alleged that the individuals were "frustrated" with his coverage of the drug case being investigated by the NCB.
Bhandari's appointment has stirred discussions in political circles. It will be interesting to see how he raises his voice from the BJP platform.
