The police announced today that three people have been held in connection with the Holi-related harassment and abuse of a Japanese woman in Delhi.
According to the police, the young visitor was residing in Paharganj in the heart of Delhi, and all three of the accused—one of whom is a minor—are locals as well.
For those who were against the #BHARATMATRIMONY Holi campaign. A Japanese tourist in India. Imagine your sister, mother or wife being treated like this in another county? Maybe you will understand then. pic.twitter.com/VribIpXBab

They further stated that the girl left for Bangladesh yesterday without filing a complaint up to this point.
Police stated in a statement that the child had tweeted that she had arrived in Bangladesh and was in good physical and mental health.
Social media users have been outraged by a video of the incident and have called for harsh punishment.
In the footage, the men can be seen grabbing her and dousing her in paint as “Holi Hai” chants are heard in the background.
Also, a boy is seen breaking an egg on her head. The footage depicts her slapping a man who tries to restrain her until she ultimately succeeds in stepping away.
The woman was soaked through by the time her ordeal was through.
Very distrubing videos getting viral on social media showing sexual harassment with foreign nationals on Holi! I am issuing notice to Delhi Police to examine these videos and arrest the perpetrators! Completely shameful behaviour!
