A tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday morning in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, when two students on their way to school came into contact with a live electric wire hanging dangerously low on Agadi Street near the International Welfare Mandapam.
The victims, identified as students in classes 10 and 8, were riding their bicycle to Vidyasagar School when they accidentally touched the high-tension wire. One of the students, named Tanveer, tragically lost his life on the spot due to severe burns. The other student, whose condition remains critical, was rushed by locals to a nearby private hospital for emergency treatment.
CCTV footage captured the heartbreaking moment when the two boys fell from their bicycle after making contact with the live wire. The video shows Tanveer's body catching fire while his companion lay motionless beside him. Despite the quick response from locals, who managed to remove the wires and prevent further injuries, it was too late to save Tanveer.
The incident has ignited widespread outrage among residents and the families of the students, who are holding the electricity authorities responsible for their negligence. A police case has been registered, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the exact circumstances that led to the tragedy.
