Tragedy in Varanasi: Husband runs away after shooting wife and three children

A gruesome incident emerged from the city of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, whereby one man has killed four family members. In the Bhadaini area under Bhelupur police station, Rajendra Gupta allegedly fired shots that killed his wife and three children before escaping from the scene. Those killed include his wife Neetu Gupta (45 years), son Navneet Gupta (25 years), son Subhendra Gupta (15 years), and daughter Gaurangi Gupta (16 years). Police have already reached the spot and launched their probe.

Man Kills Wife and Children in Varanasi

He resided with his family next to the Power House at Bhadaini. His aged mother, wife Neetu, and three children—daughter Gaurangi and two sons Navneet and Subhendra—used to stay with him in the house. The concerned neighbors raised the alarm and informed the police when they suspected something wrong. When the police went inside Rajendra's house, they found the four family members dead, but Rajendra was not to be seen. Besides, he also had his elderly mother in the house who, apparently did not know about what was going on.

The early reports indicate that there may have been an involvement of an occult practitioner influencing Rajendra. On advice from an astrologer, Rajendra started perceiving his wife as an impediment to his further schemes, which the detectives feel was the reason he went ahead and committed these murders. The police now have both Rajendra and the occult practitioner on their most wanted list.

The whole local community has been shocked by this incident as authorities are still searching for Rajendra and more details of the motive behind this tragedy.
