UP Assembly Session: Minister OP Rajbhar Stumbles Over English Response, Opposition Takes a Jibe, Video Viral

Lucknow: During the Monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly on Tuesday, Minister of Panchayati Raj and Minority Welfare Om Prakash Rajbhar faced an unusual situation. When a question was posed by the Samajwadi Party (SP), Rajbhar stood up to respond by reading from a file. However, as the response was written in English, Rajbhar found himself struggling to read it fluently.
Seeing the minister's difficulty, the assembly members, including the Speaker and opposition leader Shivpal Yadav, could not help but smile. The opposition members suggested, in a light-hearted manner, that Rajbhar should hand over the file to the concerned legislator instead of trying to read it himself.
SP legislator from Amroha, Mehboob Ali, went a step further, saying, "The minister should simply admit that he is having trouble reading. There is no harm in saying that." In response, the Speaker defended Rajbhar, stating, "It’s not like that."

The incident brought a moment of levity to the assembly proceedings, with opposition members seen smiling and making remarks. Despite the light-hearted nature of the incident, it highlighted how language barriers can sometimes pose challenges in official proceedings.
Rajbhar’s struggle to read the English response also underscored the need for ensuring that ministers are comfortable and fluent in the language of their official communications. This incident, while humorous, drew attention to a significant aspect of legislative functioning and the importance of effective communication.
As the session continued, the brief moment of humor was a reminder of the human side of political proceedings and the everyday challenges faced by those in public service.
