UP Road Accident: Groom, Bride Among Seven Killed in Bijnor Car-Auto Collision - Read Now

Seven persons, including a newly-wed bride and groom, were killed in a road accident that occurred in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday night. A high-speed car collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw at the Haridwar-Kashipur National Highway in dense fog near here.

Accident Details:
The accident took place at 2:00 a.m. next to a fire station situated in the Dhamapur police station area. According to reports, the Creta car was overtaking in extremely poor visibility with thick fog when it rammed into the seven passenger-carrying auto. The collision threw the auto against the electric pole, killing the passengers instantly.

Accident Victims
The victims included:-
Khursheed Ansari (65 years) – Bridegroom's father
Vishal (25) – The groom
Khushi (22) – The bride
Mumtaz (32) – Groom's relative
Ruby (28) – Mumtaz's wife
Bushra (11) – Mumtaz's daughter
Ajab Singh (45) – The auto driver
The family was on its way back to the village of Teebri, where they had been for the wedding.

Injured Car Occupants
Aman, the car driver, and a second passenger from Sherkot, named Suhail, were injured and undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
CM Yogi Adityanath Condolences
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has resolutely condemned the accident and condoled with the family of the dead. He ordered relief to be provided forthwith and also to rush the injured for immediate treatment. CM Yogi also prayed to God for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Causes
Extremely Dense Fog: Poor visibility was one of the major causes of the accident due to heavy fog.
High Speed Over-taking The car said to have crashed was over-taking at top speed while it lost control.
Safety Measures
Authorities are advised to increase much stricter road safety measures during winter months, speed limits, and fog-related warnings, to avert such horrific accidents.
