UP Government Freezes Salaries of 39,000 Employees: No Asset Details, No Pay in Yogi’s Transparency Push!

In a significant move, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided not to release the salaries of 39,000 state employees for the month. The reason behind this decision is their failure to upload details of their assets on the designated portal. The government had set a deadline of September 30 for employees to submit their property information.

The state administration had previously issued a directive to all state employees and officials, requiring them to disclose their property holdings on the Manav Sampada portal by the September deadline. However, around 39,077 employees did not comply with the order. As a result, these employees will not receive their salaries for this month.

The directive applied to all employees across the state’s 90 departments. Out of the total 827,583 state employees, 788,506 managed to upload their asset details, leaving the remaining 39,077 without a salary.

Departmental Compliance Rates

According to government data, departments such as the Uttar Pradesh Police achieved a compliance rate of 99.65%, with nearly all officers and personnel submitting their asset details. The agriculture department also reported a 99% compliance rate. Similarly, 95% of employees in departments like Panchayati Raj, Livestock, Medical Education, and AYUSH completed their submissions.

The departments from which property declarations were required include Textile, Soldier Welfare, Energy, Sports, Agriculture, Women’s Welfare, Basic and Higher Education, Medical Health, Industrial Development, and Revenue.

This move by the Yogi government is part of a broader push for transparency and accountability among state employees. The non-compliance by these employees may result in further actions, but for now, their salaries will remain on hold until they fulfill the required submission.
