The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has announced the dates for the written examination for the recruitment of 60,244 constable positions. The exam will be conducted on August 23, 24, 25, 30, and 31, 2024. Each day will have two sessions, with approximately 500,000 candidates appearing per session.
This decision follows the cancellation of the previous exam due to a paper leak. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had assured that the exam would be re-conducted within six months, upholding the highest standards of integrity and transparency.
The government of Uttar Pradesh has declared this schedule in line with its commitment to conduct the examination transparently and within a specified timeframe. On June 19, 2024, the state government issued detailed guidelines covering various aspects of the exam, such as preparation, selection of exam centers, verification of candidates, and measures to prevent impersonation. The exam will adhere strictly to these standards.
To ensure the integrity of public examinations, the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Ordinance, 2024 (Uttar Pradesh Ordinance No. 6, 2024) was notified on July 1, 2024. This ordinance classifies acts such as cheating, impersonation, and leaking question papers as criminal offenses. Violators face severe penalties, including fines up to one crore rupees and life imprisonment.
