Ghaziabad’s Vrinda Diagnostic in Controversy — Pregnant Woman Given Wrong Report, Staff Misbehaves; Alert Doctor Prevents Major Mishap

A shocking case of medical negligence has emerged from Vrinda Diagnostic Centre in Ghaziabad, where a pregnant woman was handed an incorrect ultrasound report. The situation could have taken a serious turn had it not been for the alertness and presence of mind of her gynecologist, who caught the error just in time. To make matters worse, when the patient and her family raised concerns, the staff reportedly behaved rudely and refused to issue the updated report.

The Incident

According to the patient’s husband, they visited Vrinda Diagnostic on Friday, 13th June, for a routine ultrasound. The scan was conducted, and they left with the report. However, the patient experienced further discomfort on 15th June, prompting another visit to their consulting doctor.

While reviewing the old report, the doctor noticed inconsistencies and immediately contacted Vrinda Diagnostic to speak with their in-house doctor. During the conversation, it was confirmed that the earlier report was indeed flawed.

The gynecologist was reportedly shocked by the level of inaccuracy and immediately advised the patient to undergo a detailed scan again.

From Negligence to Misconduct

When the patient and her family returned to Vrinda Diagnostic to question the error and get a correct report, they were met with hostility. The staff not only refused to share the revised report but also allegedly misbehaved with the family.

What If the Doctor Had Missed It?

The most pressing concern is — what if the doctor hadn’t caught the error in time? A wrong ultrasound report during pregnancy can mislead the treatment path, potentially endangering both the mother and the unborn child.

Premium Charges, Poor Conduct

Vrinda Diagnostic is known to charge higher than average fees for diagnostic services. Despite this, the negligence in reporting and the unprofessional behavior of the staff raise serious concerns about the quality of care being offered.

Efforts were made to contact the centre’s director, Dhruv Sharma, for a statement, but he was unreachable for comment.

Call for Action

There is growing demand for an impartial investigation by health authorities and strict action against those responsible to ensure that such lapses are not repeated in the future.
