Water Crisis Persists in Jalgaon: 53 Villages Relying on Tanker Supply Despite Monsoon

As July comes to an end, the water crisis in Jalgaon district persists with 53 villages still dependent on water supplied by 40 tankers. Despite the presence of three state ministers and a central minister in the district, the issue of water scarcity remains unresolved. Even in the rainy season, water is being provided through tankers in the district, which includes the home constituency of the state's water supply minister.
Monsoon Fails to Alleviate Water Shortage
Although the monsoon arrived on time this year, by the end of July and the beginning of August, Jalgaon district continues to face a severe water crisis. Currently, 53 villages are being supplied with water through 40 tankers. In June, water was being supplied to 138 water-scarce villages in the district through tankers, with Chalisgaon taluka leading in terms of tanker usage. Presently, the highest number of tankers, 19, are operating in 19 villages of Chalisgaon taluka. This is followed by Jamner taluka with 7 villages, Bhusawal taluka with 6 villages, and Pachora and Bodwad talukas with 2 villages each receiving water through tankers.

Chalisgaon Most Affected
Chalisgaon taluka was the first and most affected by the tanker supply. Even after ten months, the situation in Chalisgaon has not improved as expected, causing surprise among the administration and residents alike. Currently, 54 villages in Chalisgaon taluka are being supplied with water through 40 tankers.
This situation highlights the severe water crisis in the district and the need for the administration to focus on finding a permanent solution to the water supply problem.
