Heavy rains have been lashing the state of Kerala for the past few days. The state will receive even more rain starting today, October 21 as per the IMD weather news.
The weather department predicts that the Western Ghat belt and eastern hills of Kerala will receive heavy to extremely heavy rains.
Moreover, the Kerala state government has started evacuating people residing in the most landslide-prone areas in the eastern hills.
Also, the Navy and NDRF are positioned to recover more bodies from under the debris.
It is to be noted that the places falling on the banks of the Periyar river have been put on high alert already.
