Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning is very likely at isolated places over Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa, Telangana, Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
Moreover, Kerala, Mahe, Rayalaseema, Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam are also likely to receive thunderstorms.
As per IMD, the depression over southwest Bay of Bengal, off the north Tamil Nadu coast, crossed between Puducherry and Chennai this Friday.
The weather department has now withdrawn the red alert for Chennai. This comes as the chances for extremely heavy rainfall are slim. But there remains an orange alert, indicating very heavy rain in the area.
Strong winds are also very likely over Westcentral and adjoining East-central Arabian Sea. Southwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal along and off north Tamilnadu-south Andhra Pradesh coasts.

Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam. South Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are likely to get heavy rainfall.
Moreover, there are chances of thunderstorms with lightning over Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa, Telangana, Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. Kerala, Mahe, Rayalaseema, Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam are also likely to get thunderstorms.
Also, strong winds are likely over the central Arabian Sea.
