Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Lakshadweep, Kerala and Mahe.
Squally winds are also very likely over the Comorin-Maldives area, along with and off the Kerala coast and Lakshadweep area.
The IMD has also issued a red alert for five districts of Tamil Nadu–Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Pudukottai and Nagapattinam, after heavy rains.
