Weather News Today: Dense fog over East UP and strong winds over Gujarat | Check Full Forecast

Dense to very dense fog is very likely over East UP and dense fog in isolated pockets over West UP and Odisha.

Cold day conditions in isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and UP.

Thunderstorm with lightning and hail is also very likely over Himachal Pradesh and with lightning over Jammu Division and north Punjab.

Strong winds are very likely over Northeast Arabian Sea and along and off north Gujarat coast.

Weather News: Forecast for next two days

Heavy snowfall/rainfall at isolated places is very likely over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and hail is also very likely over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakahnd. Besides, north Chhattisgarh, Jammu division, Punjab, Haryana, UP, East MP, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim and Odisha are likely to receive snowfall/rainfall.

Strong winds are very likely over Northeast Arabian Sea and along and off north Gujarat coast.

The confluence between westerlies and easterlies at lower tropospheric levels is responsible for these chilly winters.

Furthermore, scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated hailstorms is likely over Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Sikkim on 3rd and 4th; Assam and Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are likely to witness rainfall on 4th and 5th February.

Light isolated rainfall/snowfall is likely over Jammu-Kashmir during the next 5 days.

IMD’s five-day precipitation forecast predicts a gradual rise by 4-6°C in minimum temperatures, which is likely till February 3 and fall by 3-4°C thereafter over most parts of Northwest and Central India.
