Who Was Vishakha Tripathi? Vishakha Tripathi is the eldest daughter of Jagadguru Kripalu Ji Maharaj. She was a well-known spiritual figure, philanthropist, and administrator. She died in a road accident on the Yamuna Expressway while traveling to Jewar Airport for a flight to Singapore on Sunday. Along with her sisters, Shyama and Krishna Tripathi, she was traveling from Vrindavan when her car collided with a dumper.
Dr Vishakha Tripathi is the President of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat, a renowned not-for-profit, spirituality-based organization. In this position, she successfully executed several exemplary works in healthcare, education, and philanthropy. She managed three charitable hospitals, including a 100-bed hospital, Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya in Vrindavan, set up in 2015, as well as two more at Mangarh and Barsana. Thousands of downtrodden people have been given free medical facilities through these hospitals.
Equal to this commitment towards education was her dedication to it. She initiated Kripalu Balika Inter College in Kunda, Pratapgarh, a welfare school for girls. It is in 2023 that a student of the same institution acquired the fifth rank in the Uttar Pradesh state board examination, which proved her expertise in the school as well.
Beyond the organizational responsibilities, she played a vital role in managing the three globally acclaimed temples, namely Prem Mandir in Vrindavan, Bhakti Mandir in Mangarh and Kirti Mandir in Barsana. The notable temple is Prem Mandir, one of the largest ten Hindu temples in the world.
Several awards and honors were bestowed upon her, including the Nelson Mandela Peace Award (2014), Mother Teresa Excellence Award (2013), and the Rajiv Gandhi Global Excellence Award (2013). She was also awarded the honorary doctorate (D. Litt.) by the Open International University for Complementary Medicines, Colombo, in 2014.
A prolific writer, Vishakha Tripathi authored a four-volume book series titled Spirituality in Daily Living.
