World Health Day 2021: PM Modi urges all to fight COVID-19 and take precautions

Published Date:

Today is World Health Day. This year it is special for all the big reasons. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, we must take a moment to thank all the frontline workers. All those doctors, nurses and staff among others who unflinchingly fought to keep us safe against the deadly virus.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday also urged people to focus on fighting COVID-19 by taking all precautions.

India is in the middle of another COVID-19 wave. He asked people to wear masks, regularly washing hands and following other protocols.

World Health Day 2021

World Health Day is a global health awareness day. It is celebrated every year on April 7 under the sponsorship of the World Health Organization (WHO).

This year’s theme for World Health Day is ‘Building a fairer, healthier world.’ Moreover, the COVID-19 has taught us the importance of hygiene. We have become more cautious when it comes to social distancing and washing our hands.

Coronavirus has claimed innumerable lives so far. But it is an undeniable fact that it has also made us more aware about our own health. Additionally, the virus can said to be one of the curses of human advancements.

Though it has not yet been ascertained where the virus came from. But shreds of evidence so far suggest its possible origin be wet markets. Zoonotic diseases are a reality. It just cannot be denied that human progress has led to deforestation and other evils.

We all should try to keep our environment safe. The universe manifests the coexistence of giants galaxies and planets. Nature’s law is formidable. And World Health Day is a day to acknowledge the same.

We need to acknowledge this truth and thank mother nature for all that we have.
