Aligarh: Five people were killed and 15 others reported injured in a tragic accident involving the collision of a double-decker bus and a truck on Yamuna Expressway near Aligarh's Tappal police jurisdiction, late last night. The double-decker bus headed for Azamgarh from Delhi, while the truck was headed for Agra. The collision was so deadly that the front portion of the bus was severely mangled as was witnessed by the onlookers. The passengers ran for their lives in panic and confusion.

The accident took place at about 1 a.m. at point number 56 on the expressway. The double-decker bus collided with the truck from the rear, causing much damage and trapping several people inside. Shouting in fear continued to reverberate across the accident scene until rescue work began.
