Mistake #2 Dead skin build up

Dead skin might be caused due to a variety of reasons and the end result will be same- discoloured arms. There are various moisturizers that contain lactic acid. Though these ingredients keep your armpits hydrated, they might also lead to discolourization by exfoliating the skin. For mechanical exfoliation, use a gentle body scrub and rub your armpits in gentle circular motion.

Mistake #3 Excessive rubbing or friction

Do you wear body-hugging clothes? Well don’t, only if you want to get rid of dark and discolouring underarms. Your clothes might be causing excessive rubbing on the skin under your arms which is extremely sensitive. Avoid wearing clothes that feel rough or uncomfortable. Rather choose a garment that fits loose on the armpits.

Mistake #4 Some deodorants

There are a lot of deodorants and antiperspirants available in the market that promise hours of odourless sweating but excessive use can lead to discoloured armpits. The area under the arms is highly irritant to chemicals and many deodorants come flooded with chemicals and toxic agents. Try to choose a deodorant or antiperspirant that’s safe for sensitive skin.
